A debt that can never be repaid, no matter how hard you try!

The other day I was on my way back to Mumbai. I was returning after having met my family, It was due for a long time. But the circumstances under which I visited were not the best ones. Dad had been admitted to the hospital and I rushed home impromptu. That night I wrote in my diary – “Adversities in life help you stay grounded..... You tend to get shaken but it helps you stay real!” After a couple of days when things looked better it was time to head back to Mumbai. It was a fairly comfortable bus journey and I had a window seat for myself. Was listening to the music and enjoying the strong breeze of wind. The journey on the return was not like the usual one. A lot of emotions had been stirred up. A lot of thoughts popped up like bubbles with text in them. (Just like in graphic magazines.) The thoughts were largely about how I felt about my folks back home. I don’t need a Father’s day to thank my dad for the silent sacrifices he has made to ensure my happiness. I don’t need a Moth

At Crack Of Dawn On A Blissful Sunday

A flock of birds woke me up today, They said to me – “Look at the clear blue sky, Enjoy the light drizzle with soothing breeze, Young man don’t miss it, It’s a beautiful Sunday.” I stood by the window, With a cup of coffee in my hand, My mind travelled miles away, And I found myself sitting alone on the beach sand. It was dawn and sun was gently on the rise, The first rays of sun on the Sunday morning, Slowly transformed the canvas called sky,  Into a kaleidoscope of innumerable colours. I took a deep breath, Trying to inhale the fragrance of the morning, Nothing in life smelled so sweet before. Before I could realise, My mind seemed intoxicated, Intoxicated by the beauty of life, A sense of happiness engulfed my mind, The silly smile on my face said it all. Life indeed is beautiful, Never miss silly moments of joy, It is all about making best of what you get, That makes life worthwhile.

A Life’s Random Song, About Abstract Thoughts!

Pick a word, I said to her, And she said songs. I thought about it, And colours began to explode in mind, Colours yes colours, Red, blue, green and grey. Random thoughts spurted out from deep within, They had no definite purpose but had a cause. A song, a song I said to myself again, A song of love or a song of pain, Words of joy or were those words of blame. Then I saw a picture in the dark sky, A boy stranded in the by lane, He too was singing a song tonight, A song of silence, In memory of the night’s stillness. And then I heard a little girl cry, Her voice was feeble may be she was shy. I listened with care and she had lots to say, I could sense there was a song in her cry, It was a song about her broken dream, It was song for the lost toy washed away in the stream. Far away I heard an old man sing, He sang of the beautiful days gone by. He was old and yet he smiled, He sang the song to a grey haired lady, His soul was tired and his body was old, Yet he had the women he alw

A Love That Rekindled The Poet In Me

Sitting alone engrossed in thoughts, Empty chairs all around, Make me wonder how much I miss her. A lovely girl I once met, Is now miles away from me, Heart desires to meet her again, But she’s now far away across the sea. The moments spent together, A few of them silly, A few of them intense, Are all engraved in my mind forever. Was it her smile that gave me joy? Or was it her twinkling eyes that, stole my peace? Been a destinies child all my life, Sometimes lonely, sometimes loveless. Thanks to her, for she made me smile. At times I smile in her absence, As I relive our moments of togetherness. Special she will always be to me, Never held her hand, Never Kissed her lips, Yet my heart beats with Joy. Was it love or was it not? The tussle of heart and mind is never ending. Somewhere deep within my silly heart, A little voice speaks words of wisdom, It was love but of a different kind, She was special and now hard to find. I find it hard to find words to express my gratitude, S

Random Thoughts Of A Mind At Midnight!

Sometimes in life you are not able to comprehend why you doing things the way you are doing it. It’s not just about “going with the flow” kind of attitude. It’s about doing things simply because you feel it’s the right thing to do. “Critics... what’s that? Who cares?” that’s the attitude. Life after all is collection of many such events. It all adds up to make life the way it is. That’s why I guess no two lives are alike and that’s what shapes ones individuality. Compromises, some more compromises and then few more compromises. This cycle is always vicious. You never realise how and when you lead your life to becoming a substandard one. Live a little, it’s OK to make mistakes. If you don’t make one you would always keep wondering – would my life have been different and probably a better one had I made few choices different. Mistakes too have a flip side; they may not be mistakes at all. It might just be what ought to have been done by you.  Destiny is not someone who walks up to you

Random Words Of Love

Walking with her beside me, On wet streets in pouring rain, Are the moments I wish come true. Being able to look at her twinkling eyes, And a face adorned with blissful smile, Are the moments I wish come true. Walking together hand in hand, Exchanging silent stares of love, Are the moments I wish come true. If there was ever a magical moment, It’s here, right here right now. For In you I see my angel, In you I see my love.

The Lost Child Within

I’m just a child, let me be one, I want to fight and cry, I want to love and smile, I’m just a child, let me be one. As days go by, years roll on, And you begin to wonder where are good days gone. The innocence is lost, so is the smile, All you pray for is to be happy, just for a while. You begin to miss the care, miss the love, You are not alone, Yet you feel lonely in midst of a crowd, Pause for a moment in silence, Can you hear child within talk to you, I’m just a child, let me be one, I want to fight and cry, I want to love and smile, I’m just a child, let me be one.
